I often visited the Bosque along the Rio Grande when I lived in Albuquerque. I would walk for hours through the cottonwoods. The Rio Grande delivers water to hundreds of thousands of people as it snakes its way through the desert. The river looms large in the history of the Southwest and all of the folklore that goes along with it. It largely goes unoticed by the many who currently live near it and the many who visit or cross over it are often disappointed by the size.

After all of years in Albuquerque and New Mexico I decided to make a body of work that encapsulated everything I had come to learn about the river and my many experiences next to it, in it, or floating down it.
